The history of the Opinel knife began in the small hamlet of Gévoudaz. It was here that Joseph Opinel developed his first pocket knife in 1890. The Museum and the Opinel Society have come up with this tourist route on the origins of the famous knife.

Description

For young explorers, a game booklet is available from the museum reception desk.

Start your tour at the Opinel Museum, then drive towards Albiez-Montrond. On your way you'll come across the famous Arves traffic circle and its giant Opinel. At the Combe des Moulins, an Opinel, a contemporary work of art, adorns the town's famous skate park.
Head back towards the hamlet of Gévoudaz, the birthplace of the Opinel family, where a cool walk (1.5 km) awaits you.
You'll pass the first factory and the first cutlery factory.
Then follow the road towards Albiez-Montrond as far as Place Opinel. There are as many bends as there are Opinel knives. Follow the countdown!
Once at the summit, take the opportunity to wander through the old streets of this charming mountain village.
